At that moment, Mother Jagdamba manifested and informed Lakshmi that all of this had happened due to her curse. Mother Jagdamba reminded Goddess Lakshmi that one day, when Vishnu was smiling for some reason, she thought he was laughing at her. Consequently, she had cursed him to lose his head. Vishnu's head was now severed due to that curse. However, behind every happening, there is a reason, and behind it is the well-being of the universe. Sometimes, what happens is for the greater good. At this time, in the world, an Asura named Hayagriva, with a horse's head, has wreaked havoc. He has obtained a boon that only a warrior with a horse's head like him can defeat him. This led Brahma to come to all the deities. Then, Goddess Bhagwati instructed the deities on a way to kill the demon Hayagriva. After this, Brahma brought the severed head of a horse, and Vishnu's head was attached to his body once again using the divine power. As soon as Vishnu's head was connected to the horse's body, he came back to life, and he defeated the formidable demon Hayagriva, bringing an end to his menace."

Magar jis samay Vishnu ped ke neeche vishram karne baithe the aur unki aankh lag gayi thi, unke haath mein dhanush-baan tha aur unhone apne baan ko bhi apni dhanush ki pratyancha mein chhadha rakhi thi. Achank kuch samay baad neend mein Vishnu ka sir dhanush ke paas aa gaya aur Vishnu ke haath se teer chhoot gayi jiske parinam swaroop Vishnu ka sir kaat gaya aur vo sir jaakar Lakshmi ke paas gira. Apne swami ki ye dasha dekh Devi Lakshmi rone lagi. Tabhi vahan Mata Jagdamba prakat hui aur Lakshmi ji se kaha ki ye sab tumhare ek shap ke karan hua hai. Maa Jagdamba, Devi Lakshmi ko yaad dilati hain ki ek din jab Vishnu man hi man kisi karan hans rahe the to tumhe laga vo tumhe dekhkar hans rahe hain isliye tumne apne pati ka sir kat jane ka shrap de diya. Vishnu ke dhad par ashwa ka sheesh judte hi vo phir se jeevit ho uthe aur unhone apne saman dikhne vaale bhayankar asur Hayagriva ka ant kar diya."
