Prajapati Daksha had 60 daughters, among them 27 were married to Chandra Dev. Chandra Dev's 27 wives are associated with the 27 constellations. However, Chandra Dev was deeply in love only with Rohini, distancing himself from his other 26 wives. Riding his chariot drawn by a deer, Chandra Dev would often embark on distant journeys with his favorite wife. This behavior did not sit well with the remaining 26 daughters of Daksha Prajapati.
Despite the pleas of Chandra's wives for love, respect, and attention, he never paid heed to the concerns of his other 26 wives. Eventually, frustrated and upset, one day, Prajapati Daksha's 26 daughters complained to their father about Chandra Dev. In anger, Prajapati Daksha cursed Chandra Dev to wane and gradually disappear. Due to this curse, Chandra Dev began to diminish slowly, causing an imbalance in the universe.
As Chandra Dev faded away, the uncontrolled waters of the ocean started flooding the earth, leading to catastrophic consequences. The influence of Chandra's radiance, which brought coolness to fruits and plants, began to wane, affecting the earth's fertility. Due to the curse, Chandra faced complete annihilation.
One day, Sage Narad suggested to Chandra Dev to worship Lord Shiva. Following this advice, Chandra Dev created an earthly lingam and began worshipping Lord Shiva for years. Pleased with Chandra's devotion, Lord Shiva appeared, and to release Chandra from Daksha's curse, Shiva absorbed him into his matted locks. Since that day, Lord Shiva came to be known as Chandrashekhara, the one who bears the Moon.

Story :
Indian mythology mein, Prajapati Daksha ke 60 daughters thi, jinme se 27 ki shaadi Chandra Dev (Moon God) ke saath hui. In 27 patniyon ko Chandra Dev ke 27 Nakshatras (constellations) kehte hain. Magar Chandra Dev sirf Rohini se hi adhik prem karte the, aur baaki 26 patniyon se doori bana li thi. Chandra Dev hamesha apne hiran rath par sawaar hokar apni pasandeeda patni ke saath door yatra par nikal jaate the. Mahadev Chandra ke tapasya se prasann hokar unke samne prakat hue aur Prajapati Daksha ke shraap se Chandra ko mukti dilane ke liye unhone use apne jataon mein dharan kar liya. Mana jaata hai ki usi din se Mahadev ka ek aur naam "Chandrashekhara" pad gaya, jo dikhata hai ki vah Chandra (Moon) ko apne baalon mein dharta hai.
The Story of Sun God
In the Vedas, Surya Dev is described as the eye of God, and his energy and power are considered the soul of the universe. He is one of the 33 crore deities worshiped in Hinduism and holds a prominent place among the nine planets. Surya Dev has various names, including Bhaskar, Aditya, Dinkar, Ravi, and Bhanu. Arun Dev is the charioteer of the divine chariot drawn by seven celestial horses, which Surya Dev takes on a journey around the universe. The Gayatri Mantra is dedicated to Lord Surya Dev. Due to his divine attributes, rituals, and worship are performed in his name.
Despite being a powerful deity, Surya Dev faced constant challenges in his life due to his sons Shani and the demon planet Rahu. Today, we are sharing the story of these challenges.
Many ages ago, to destroy the demons and bring prosperity to the world, Goddess Aditi, a partial incarnation of Lord Narayana, gave birth to a child at the hermitage of the sage Kashyapa. The child was named Vivasvan. Despite the demoness Diti's and her demon sons' efforts to harm Vivasvan, he remained unharmed due to his divine origin. Vivasvan's body radiated intense heat from a very young age, making it impossible for anyone to hold him.
To mitigate the intense heat and brightness, Vivasvan decided to undergo severe penance and meditation on Lord Shiva. Lord Shiva advised him that his birth had a specific purpose, and the intensity of his heat could only be reduced temporarily. After a certain period, the intense heat would return.
Accepting this, Vivasvan continued his meditation. When he returned after the penance, he was a young man. During this time, Vivasvan noticed Sanjna, the daughter of Vishwakarma. Both fell in love, and their grand wedding took place with much pomp and show. Soon, they had children named Yama, Yami, and Vaivasvata Manu.
However, as time passed, the intense heat of Surya Dev started causing distress to his wife Sanjna. To find a solution, she created a shadow (Chhaya) of herself to take her place. Unfortunately, Surya Dev did not recognize the change.
When Sanjna left to perform penance, Chhaya continued to live with Surya Dev, and soon, she gave birth to children, including Shani. When Sanjna returned and learned about this, she felt dishonored and decided to leave again. To protect her children from the intense heat of Surya Dev, she created a divine Til (sesame) plant and disappeared, leaving Chhaya in her place.
As Shani grew older, he discovered the truth about his parentage. He sought reconciliation with his father, and after a series of conflicts, Surya Dev accepted Shani as his son. Eventually, the father-and-son relationship was restored, and Surya Dev adopted Shani as his own.
This narrative highlights the challenges faced by Surya Dev in managing his divine duties and family dynamics, emphasizing the importance of understanding and resolving conflicts within the family.

Story :
Vedon mein, Surya Dev ko bhagwan ka netra kaha gaya hai, aur unki urja aur shakti ko jagat ki atma mana gaya hai. Hindu dharm mein, ve 33 crore devi-devtaon mein se ek hain aur nau grahon ke beech pramukh sthan par hain. Surya Dev ke bahut se naam hain, jaise Bhaskar, Aditya, Dinkar, Ravi, aur Bhanu. Arun Dev, sat divy ashvon se jude rath ke sarathi hain, jo Bhagwan Surya Dev lekar is srishti ki parikrama karte hain. Gayatri Mantra Bhagwan Surya Dev ko samarpit hai. Unke divya sthiti ke karan, unke naam par vrat aur pooja bhi ki jati hai.
Ek puja devta hone ke bawajood, Surya Dev ke jivan mein unke putron Shani aur asur grah Rahu ke karan hamesha sangharsh raha. Aaj hum aapko wahi kahani batane ja rahe hain.
Kai yugon pahle, asuron ko nasht karne aur sansar ko samriddhi lane ke liye Bhagwan Narayan ke ansh se devi-devtaon ki mata Aditi aur rishi Kashyap ke yahan ek bachche ka janm hua, jiska naam Vivasman tha. Asur mata Diti ne apne asur putron ke saath milkar Aditi ke putr Vivasman ko nuksan pahunchane ki bahut koshish ki, lekin Narayan ka ansh hone ke karan Vivasman ko kabhi koi ahit nahi hua. Uske balak avastha se hi Vivasman ke sharir mein bahut tez aur tap tha, jiske karan maa-baap ko chhodkar koi bhi Vivasman ko goad nahi le pata tha. Jab Vivasman bada hua, to uske usi tej aur tap ke karan koi bhi bachcha uske paas khelne ke liye nahi aata tha. Ek nishchit samay ke baad punah usko wahi tej aur tap prapt hoga. Vivasman ne maan liya. Jab vo tap karke lautaa, tab tak vo yuva ho chuka tha. Isi doran Vivasman ki nazar Vishwakarma ki putri Sanjna par padi aur dono mein prem ho gaya. Kuch samay baad Vivasman aur Sanjna ka vivah bahut dhoom dhaam se sampanna hua aur dono rahne ke liye Suryalok aa gaye. Kuch samay baad hi unhe Yama, Yami, aur Vaivasmanu naamak santanen prapt hui. Lekin phir akasmik hi Surya ke sharir ka tej badhne laga. Devi Sanjna ko jab Surya ke tej aur tap se asahniya peeda hone lagi, to usne iske samadhan ke liye apne hi deh se ek chhaya ki utpatti ki aur use uska daayitva samjhaakar khud kathor tap aur sadhna karne chali gayi taaki vo apne pati ke tej aur tap ko sahne ki shakti prapt kar sake. Is beech Narad rishi ne aakar kai baar chhaya ko samjhaaya ki vo us parivar mein adhik na ghule-mile, varna iska parinaam dukhad hoga. Lekin chhaya ne nahi maani aur isi ke parinaam swaroop uski kokh mein Shani aa gaya. Jab Shani ka janm hua, to uske shyam varn ko dekhkar Surya ko sandeh hua aur phir unhe jab saari kahani pata chali to unhone Shani ko apnane se mana kar diya. Sanjna ne tap se lautkar apna parivar phir se sambhal liya magar Surya ne tab bhi Shani aur chhaya ko svikar nahi kiya jiske baad chhaya apne putra Shani ko lekar Dhartilok aa gayi. Idhar Shani jab bada hone laga tab usko uske pita Suryadev ke baare mein pata chala jinhone uski maa ko apamanit karke Suryalok se nikal diya tha. Shani apni maa ko phir se samman dilwane ke liye apne pita se mila. Isi ke parinaam swaroop Surya aur Shani dono grahon mein ek yudh chhid gaya.
