Ashok Sundari Story :
Long ago, Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati went to the divine Nandanvan, a celestial garden of extraordinary beauty. There, Goddess Parvati saw a miraculous Kalpavriksha, the wish-fulfilling tree. She wished for a beautiful, virtuous daughter, and by the Kalpavriksha's grace, a divine girl appeared. Goddess Parvati accepted her as her daughter and named her Ashok Sundari, meaning one whose beauty and presence dispel sorrow. As time passed, Ashok Sundari grew into a beautiful, radiant, and virtuous young woman. One day, an Asura named Hund became captivated by her beauty and desired to marry her, but Ashok Sundari rejected his proposal because she was destined to marry Nahusha. When Hund tried to force her into submission through deceit, Ashok Sundari cursed him, declaring that her future husband, Nahusha, would be the one to kill him. Meanwhile, Nahusha, the son of Ayu, grew into a brave, powerful, and righteous warrior. When Hund learned about Nahusha, he tried to destroy him, but ultimately the two faced each other in a fierce battle, and Nahusha defeated and killed Hund. Thus, Ashok Sundari’s prophecy came true, and eventually Ashok Sundari and Nahusha were married according to sacred rites.
