An honest and simple-hearted man named Moonchhelal, who was born with a thick moustache on his face, grows up to become a police constable. He never accepts bribes under any circumstances. Because of his unwavering integrity, his wife repeatedly leaves him and returns to her parental home, unable to adjust to his principles. During this time, Moonchhelal is forced to shoulder the full responsibility of both his job and the upbringing of his two children entirely on his own.
Taking advantage of Moonchhelal’s honesty and innocence, several cunning criminals manage to slip through his hands, and as a result, he eventually loses his job. However, one day he uncovers a startling secret—the moustache he was born with is no ordinary one; it possesses extraordinary and mysterious powers. Moonchhelal performs remarkable feats with his moustache, delighting his children, and this is how Moonchhelal Jalledar soon becomes famous.
But before long, Moonchhelal also discovers that as soon as the sun sets, or whenever it hides behind clouds, the power of his moustache vanishes, and he can no longer perform any feats. He keeps this weakness a secret from everyone. Meanwhile, a tantrik named Guru Ghantal, who needs Moonchhelal’s moustache for his own purposes, arrives in Jalebipur along with his two disciples, Bagad and Billa, constantly plotting to cut off Moonchhelal’s moustache and take it away.
