In India, the Ramayana has always remained a widely discussed and popular epic. Earlier, it used to be read in households, and later it began to be shown on television as well. Till now, nearly 20–25 versions of the Ramayana have been made, but the one that first aired in the 1990s was truly unique and unforgettable. Ramanand Sagar is considered the pioneer of bringing the Ramayana to television. He visualised it in his own imaginative way, brought it to the small screen, and it became a household phenomenon.
After that, many Ramayanas were produced. Now, decades later, Ramanand Sagar’s production house Sagar World ( Shiv Sagar) has created Kaakbhushundi Ramayan, which is currently airing on DD National. The show has completed two seasons, and the shooting for the third season has already begun. Shrikant Vishwakarma is the screenplay writer of Kaakbhushundi Ramayan. After his work on Gaumata Kamdhenu, he was given the responsibility to carry this show forward. Gaumata Kamdhenu was also a Sagar World production, for which Shrikant Vishwakarma had written the screenplay, and the show performed very well.
Recognizing his previous work, Sagar World (Ramanand Sagar's productions company) approached mythology researcher and screenplay-dialogue writer Shrikant Vishwakarma, who has written shows like Parshuram, Kahat Hanuman Jai Shri Ram, and resrach for Ganesh Kartikey, to write the screenplay for the third season of Kaakbhushundi Ramayan once again. It is hoped that the third season of this show will be well received by the audience.
