"Aghorebhyo’tha Ghorebhyo Ghora-ghoratarebhyaḥ Sarvebhyaḥ Sarvaśarvebhyo Namo’stu Rudrarūpebhyaḥ."
Salutations to the Rudra forms—those who are beyond terror (Aghora), who are fearsome (Ghora), and those more terrifying than the terrifying. I bow to all forms of Rudra, destroyer of all.
"Vāmadevāya Namo Jyeṣṭhāya Namaḥ Śreṣṭhāya Namo Rudrāya Namaḥ Kālāya Namaḥ Kalavikaraṇāya Namo Balavikaraṇāya Namo Balāya Namo Balapramathanāya Namaḥ Sarvabhūta-damanāya Namo Manonmanāya Namaḥ."
Salutations to you who are Vāmadeva, the ancient and the most excellent one; Rudra, Kāla (time), Kalavikaraṇa (transformer of time), Balavikaraṇa (who changes strength), the mighty, the destroyer of power, the subduer of all beings, and the transcendental form beyond the mind.
"Sadyajātaṁ prapadyāmi Sadyajātaāya vai Namo Namaḥ. Bhave bhave nātibhave bhavasva māṁ bhavodbhavāya Namaḥ."
I surrender to Sadyajāta, one of Shiva's five faces. Salutations to him! May you not cause downfall in any of my births or lives. Salutations to you, O source of all existence!
"Sāyaṁ Namaḥ Prātaḥ Namo Rātryā Namo Divā. Bhavāya ca Namaḥ."
Salutations to you in the evening, in the morning, in the night, and in the day. Salutations to Bhava (the source of life).
"Śarvāya cobhābhyām akaram yasya niḥśvasitaṁ vedā yo vedebhyo’khilaṁ jagat nirmame tam ahaṁ vande vidyātīrthaṁ Maheśvaram."
I bow to that Supreme Shiva, the sacred pilgrimage of all knowledge, whose mere breath became the Vedas, and from those Vedas, he created the entire universe.
Mahamrityunjaya Mantra and Rudra's Omnipresence
"Tryambakaṁ yajāmahe sugandhiṁ puṣṭi-vardhanam | Urvārukam iva bandhanān mṛtyor mukṣīya mā’mṛtāt."
We worship the three-eyed Lord, fragrant and bestower of strength. May He free us from the bondage of death, just as a ripe cucumber detaches from the stem—but not from immortality.
"Sarvo vai Rudraḥ tasmai Rudrāya Namo astu. Puruṣo vai Rudraḥ saṁmaho Namo Namaḥ."
All is verily Rudra; to that Rudra, we offer our salutations. That Supreme Being, the One alone, is Rudra—the Great Spirit. Salutations again and again.
"Viśvaṁ bhūtaṁ bhuvanaṁ citraṁ bahudhā jātaṁ jāyamānaṁ ca yat. Sarvo hyeṣa Rudraḥ tasmai Rudrāya Namo astu."
All creation, all beings, the wondrous, varied cosmos that has been, is, and will be—everything originates from Rudra. There is nothing apart from him. To that Rudra, I bow in reverence.
