What is the story behind the birth of Sita's father Janak and the dropping of eyelids of living beings? Story of Janka.
Once Sage Vashishtha, overcome by anger, had cursed King Nimiko in the past. This story is related to that incident... King Nim had been a patron of Sage Vashishtha. He wanted to perform a divine sacrifice and prayed to Guru Vashishtha to conduct it. However, at that time, Vashishtha had gone to conduct Indra's sacrifice and instructed Nimi to gather all the sacrificial materials. King Nimi collected all the materials and, after waiting for Sage Vashishtha for hundreds of years, initiated his sacrifice by making Gautama Rishi his priest. Infuriated, Vashishtha cursed him, saying, "O King, may your body perish." In response, King Nim also cursed him, saying, "O Knower of Dharma, you, being controlled by anger, have unjustly cursed me. Therefore, your body shall perish today." Thus, Vashishtha's body perished, and thereafter, he took birth from the brilliance of Varuna along with Agastya in a pitcher. King Ikshvaku fostered him, and later, he became the priest of their lineage...
On the other hand, due to residing in the body of Nim, King Nimik, the initiates of the divine sacrifice, protected his body with the power of mantras, and after the completion of the sacrifice in the correct manner, with the boon from the goddess, he attained pure knowledge, and his residence became the eyes of all living beings, and the power to drop eyelids of living beings emerged. Due to Nimike's residence, humans, animals, and birds became 'Nimish' (those who drop eyelids) and deities 'Animish' (those who do not drop eyelids). After this, the sages kept Nimik's body on the Arani wood, due to which a boy similar to him was born, who was known as 'Mithi', 'Videha', and 'Janak', and all the kings born in his lineage were called 'Videha'. He was the one who constructed a beautiful city famous as 'Mithila'. Afterward, the king asked again why, despite Sage Vashishtha being a great Brahmin and the priest of King Nimik, did King Nimik curse his guru and Brahmin Vashishtha, and why was he not forgiven? To this, Vyasa replied, "O King! Forgiveness is extremely rare for those whose senses are uncontrolled. This entire universe has arisen from ego, hence how can a human remain detached from it? Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva are also bound by the three qualities. The Supreme Being and the Divine Energy are always in unity, their essence is inseparable. Liberation is attained through this knowledge."

Sita ke pitaa Janak aur praanion ke palak girne ke peeche ki katha kya hai? Ek baar rishi Vashishthaji ne krodh ke vashibhoot hokar poorvakal mein raja Nimiko bhi shaap de diya tha. Yeh katha usi ghatna se judi hai... Raja Nimi Vashishthaji ke yajmaan the, ve ek deviyyaj karna chahte the aur unhone ise sampann karane ke liye guru Vashishth se prarthana ki, parantu Vashishthaji us samay Indraka yajn karane ke liye chale gaye aur Nimise bole ki tum yajnsaamagri ekatrit karo.
Raja Nimi ne samast yajnsaamagri ekatrit karke saikadon varshon tak Vashishthajiki pratiksha ke anantar Gautamtarishiko aacharya banakar apna yajn prarambh kara diya. Isse kruddh hokar Vashishthaji ne unhein shaap de diya ki hey rajan. Tumhara shareer nasht ho jaaye. Is par raja Nimit bhi unhein shaap dete hue kaha ki hey dharmgyan.
Aapne krodh ke vashibhoot hokar mujhe akaran hi shaap de diya hai. Atah aapki yeh krodhyukt deh aaj hi nasht ho jaaye. Isse Vashishthaki deh nasht ho gayi aur punah unhone Varun ke tejse Agastike saath ek kumbhse janm grahan kiya. Raja Ikshvaku ne unka palanposhan kiya aur kaalantar mein ve unke vansh ke purohit bane...
Udhar Bhagwatike yajn mein deekshit raja Nimiki deh ko ritvijon ne mantra shaktise surakshit banaya rakha aur yajn ki samyak prakarse poorti ho jaane ke baad devike varadanse unhein nirmal gyaanke prapti hui aur samast praanion ke netron mein unka nivaas ho gaya aur praanion ke netron mein palak girane ki shakti aa gayi. Nimike nivaas ke kaaran hi manushya, pashu tatha pakshi 'Nimish' (palak giranewaale) aur devta 'Animish' (palak na giranewaale) ho gaye. Iske anantar muniyon ne aranikaashtpar rakhkar Nimiki dehka manthan kiya, jisse unhi ke saman ek balak utpann hua, jo 'Mithi', 'Videh' aur 'Janak' naamse jaana gaya aur unke kulmein utpann sabhi raja 'Videh' kahe gaye.
Unhone hi ek sundar nagrikaka nirmaan karaya, jo 'Mithila' naamse vikhyaat hai. Iske anantar rajane punah prashn kiya ki Vashishthaji shreshth brahman aur raja Nimike purohit the to bhi raja Nimine apne guru aur brahman Vashishthako kyun shaap diya aur kshama kyun nahi kiya? Ispar Vyaasji bole - hey rajan! Ajityendriya praanion ke liye kshama atyant durlabh hai. Kaaryakaranaswaroop ahankaarse hi yeh trilok utpann hua hai to phir manushya isse viyukt kaise rah sakta hai? Brahma, Vishnu aur Shiv bhi teen gunonse bande huye hain. Paramatma aur Paraashakti dononmein sadaa se aiky hai, unka swaroop abhinn hai. Is gyanse mukti ho jaati hai.
