There are numerous stories in Indian mythology, but among them, some are particularly special. Here, we will explore an untold tale related to Hanuman's mother. In Indian mythology stories, there is a terrifying curse that befell Hanuman's mother. An ancient story from mythology, intertwined with curses and blessings, is presented here.
In the celestial realm, there was a remarkably beautiful Apsara named Punjikasthala. However, she was quite different from the other Apsaras in Swargaloka because most of her time was spent in devotional practices, unlike the other celestial maidens who usually indulged in recreational activities in the forest. One day, Lord Brahma approached Lord Mahadev and conveyed that due to the atrocities of the wicked Ravana, the time had come for Lord Vishnu to take birth in the form of Lord Rama, the human incarnation. To assist in this divine task, a descendant of Lord Shiva, named Shivansh, would also need to take birth on Earth and support Lord Rama in his mission. Lord Mahadev assured Lord Brahma that he had found a means for Shivansh to be born on Earth, comforting him.
One day, the sage Durvasa was about to visit Swargaloka. Indra, the king of the gods, knew that Durvasa was known for his irritable nature and had the tendency to curse anyone on trivial matters. To avoid any untoward incidents, Indra assigned the responsibility of welcoming Durvasa to Apsara Punjikasthala. However, when Durvasa arrived in Swargaloka, Punjikasthala could not properly greet him. In her nervousness, she started behaving like a monkey, jumping around and chaotically presenting things before Durvasa. Enraged by this sight, Durvasa immediately cursed Punjikasthala to become a female monkey. Although Durvasa later calmed down and realized his mistake, he couldn't revoke the curse. Instead, he transformed Punjikasthala into an enchanted, shape-shifting female monkey.
Years later, Punjikasthala, in her monkey form, gave birth to a daughter named Anjani. Recognizing her eligibility for marriage, Anjani was wedded to the mighty and valorous Vanara king Kesari. To attain a son, Anjani performed intense penance dedicated to Lord Mahadev. Impressed by her devotion, Lord Pavan, the god of the wind and a manifestation of Lord Shiva, granted her the boon of having a son. Thus, Hanuman was born, who later became a devoted ally in Lord Rama's quest, ultimately leading to the demise of Ravana.
In this way, we see that the curse bestowed upon Punjikasthala by the sage Durvasa played a crucial role in the birth of Hanuman, who became a key figure in Lord Rama's endeavors and the eventual defeat of Ravana.

Svarg Lok mein ek bahut hi sundar Apsara thi, naam tha jiska Poonjikasthala... lekin vo Svarg Lok ki doosri Apsaron se bahut hi alag thi. Kyunki Poonjikasthala ka adhikatar samay anya apsaron ke viparit pooja path mein hi vyatit hota tha. Jabki baaki apsaraayein hamesha van vihar ke liye jaaya karti thi... Ek din Brahma Ji Mahadev ke paas aaye aur bole ki Bhagwan, dusht Ravan ke atyacharon ke karan Shrihari Narayan ke Nar Avatar ke roop mein janm lene ka samay aa gaya hai. Unka saath dene ke liye ab Shivansh ko bhi shighra dharti par janm lena hoga jo Ram kaj mein sahayak siddh honge... Mahadev ne Brahmadev se kaha ki Brahmadev mujhe uska madhyam mil gaya hai, aap nishchint rahein...
Ek din Svarg Lok mein Rishi Durvasa Ji padharne waale the. Magar baad mein jab Rishi Durvasa shaant hue to unhein apni bhool ka aabhas ho gaya. Magar ek baar diya gaya shraap lautaya nahi ja sakta tha, isliye Rishi Durvasa ne Apsara Poonjikasthala ko ichchhadhari vanari bana diya. Matlab voh vanari hokar bhi ek stree ke roop mein rah sakti thi.
Kuch varshon baad Poonjikasthala ne vanar shreshth Viraj ki patni ke garbha se vanari ke roop mein janm liya aur unka naam Anjani rakha gaya. Vivah yogya hone par pita ne apni sundar putri ka vivah mahaan parakrami Kapi Shriromani Vanar Raj Kesaris se kar diya. Putra prapti ke liye Anjani ne Mahadev ka dhyan tap kiya jiske baad Mahadev ke aadesh par Pavan Dev ne Poonjikasthala ko putra prapti ka varadan diya aur phir Hanuman Ji ka janm hua jo baad mein Ram kaj mein sahayak bane. Is prakar ham dekhte hain ki ek Rishi dwara Poonjikasthala ko diye gaye shraap ke karan hi aage chalkar Hanuman Ji ka janm hua jo Ram kaj mein sahayak bane aur Ravan ka anth hua.
