English Translation:
O Durga, Supreme Mother of the universe, be gracious to us. In the three great functions of creation, preservation, and dissolution, You alone are the ultimate power. By Your own divine will, the three great forms—Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva—were brought forth, each carrying out their appointed work according to their qualities.
O Mother, there is no creator apart from You in this entire universe. Who, then, could ever possess the power to describe the immeasurable greatness of Your divine qualities?

English Translation:
Worshipping You, Lord Hari vanquished the mighty demons who were nearly impossible to defeat in battle, and thus protects the three worlds. Lord Shambhu, too, bears Your sacred presence upon His heart.
When the terrible poison Kālakūṭa arose, powerful enough to destroy the three worlds, Shiva drank it and saved creation.
O Three-Eyed Mother, how can we possibly describe Your divine deeds? What could we, mere beings of the three worlds, ever say about the limitless glory of Your wondrous power?

English Translation:
O Mother Ambika, You are the Supreme Power of the Supreme Being. Through Your divine Maya and Your own qualities, You manifest as the power that gives the embodied being its physical form, while also remaining the conscious spiritual force within it.
Deluded by Your Maya, mortal beings perceive this divine power dwelling within the body and, because of their limited understanding, mistakenly distinguish between the Supreme Spirit and the body.
To that Supreme Power, which is truly You, O Mother, I bow with reverence.

English Translation:
The Supreme Brahman is beyond every distinction—beyond woman and man, beyond every limitation and every worldly attribute.
Yet, at the beginning of creation, the first desire to manifest the universe arose through You. You are that Supreme Divine Shakti, the primordial power from which the two fundamental forms of existence emerged.
Therefore, everything in creation is woven through Your Maya, and even the Supreme Brahman is understood through the manifestation of Your eternal Shakti.

English Translation:
Just as a person seeing ice, hail, or anything that has arisen from water naturally recognizes its essential nature as water, so too the wise perceive the truth behind all manifestations.
When one looks upon the entire universe arising from Brahman and realizes through the mind that its very essence is Divine Shakti, one begins to understand the Supreme Reality.
Through the realization of Shakti, the human mind ultimately moves beyond the visible world and reaches the Supreme Brahman.

English Translation:
Within the six sacred chakras of the human body shine the six divine principles, beginning with Brahma and culminating in Shiva. Yet without Your support, O Goddess, they remain powerless.
It is only by taking refuge in You that even these divine beings attain the status of supreme lordship.
Therefore, O auspicious One, true sovereignty does not exist independently even in Shiva—it rests in You alone, O Mother of the universe.
O Goddess Durga, whose sacred feet are worshipped by all the celestial beings, be gracious to us. Bless us with Your divine protection and compassion.
Iti Shri Mahābhāgavate Mahāpurāṇe Vedaiḥ Kṛtā Durga Stutiḥ Sampūrṇā.
English Translation:
Thus ends the Durga Stuti, offered by the Vedas and found in the sacred Shri Mahabhagavata Mahapurana.
