A Short Essay on Swans
Swans are aquatic creatures that live in water and are known for their milky white color. They appear very innocent and beautiful, captivating people with their graceful walk. There are many species of swans; among them, the tallest and largest swans are called Rajhans or royal swans. These royal swans are extremely elegant and attractive in appearance. They prefer living in water most of the time. Some people even domesticate them, and they can also be seen in aviaries or bird sanctuaries.
Some royal swans are so large that people feel intimidated to approach them. During the rainy season, swans seem very joyful and enjoy swimming in the water. A remarkable characteristic of swans is their ability to precisely separate milk from water. They are also known for picking pearls. Many poems and songs have been written about swans.
Unfortunately, some people hunt swans. The meat of birds is considered a delicacy by non-vegetarians. However, swans should not be killed as they are very innocent and remain deeply connected to nature. Swans symbolize peace and wisdom, so in Indian mythology, they are considered the vehicle of the goddess of knowledge and arts, Maa Saraswati.
Maa Saraswati is often depicted riding a swan, which is why one of her names is "Hansvahini" (the one who rides a swan).
