In a family of doctors, where everyone talks about logic and science, lives a devout daughter-in-law, Shakti, who is a staunch believer in God. She possesses a miraculous conch that, when blown, allows her to summon any deity. The gods Narayan and Lakshmi reveal to Shakti that the solutions to modern-day problems are hidden in ancient mythological fast and stories. Shakti calls upon the respective deities associated with these fasts and narrates their stories, who, in turn, provide her with the solutions to her problems.
For instance, Shakti’s doctor husband, Rakesh, accepts advance money from a patient to save his life, but the patient’s condition worsens, and he starts seeing death messengers (Yamdoots). Later, it is revealed that the patient is the brother-in-law of a dangerous don, who warns Rakesh that if he doesn’t save his brother-in-law’s life, he will kill everyone. However, the patient's condition is critical, and he could die at any moment. Seeing her husband troubled, Shakti blows the conch and summons Yamraj (the god of death). Initially, Yamraj tries to avoid her, but eventually, he narrates the story of Satyavan and Savitri, through which Shakti learns the solution. At Shakti’s suggestion, the don’s sister performs the Vat Savitri fast, which ultimately saves her husband’s life.
Another
story revolves around the fast of Anant Chaturthi, and the third one relates to
the fast of Shitala Ashtalakshmi. In this way, through various fast stories,
Shakti blows the conch, calls upon the gods, and helps people through their
problems.
