Parashurama Season 1 Story:
Atrangi/Hariom app/Indian mythology stories.
The god Parashurama, an incarnation of Lord Narayana, is born to sage Jamadagni and Devi Renuka to destroy the unrighteous. He is named Rama. As Rama grows older, one day he suddenly fulfills his father's command by killing his mother. However, seeing his obedient son's dedication, sage Jamadagni brings Devi Renuka back to life. Later, to satisfy his son's curiosity, Jamadagni narrates the entire story related to his mother.
Parashurama's mother, Devi Renuka, wanted to place a weapon in his hand from childhood. At the same time, his father, Jamadagni, wished for his son to become a Vedic scholar like his other four sons. Despite this, Rama studies both scriptures and weaponry and after intense penance, he makes Lord Shiva his guru. Impressed by Rama's devotion and penance, Shiva bestows upon him a divine axe, named Parashu, and from that day, Rama becomes known as Parashurama.
During this time, Lord Indra, pleased with the philanthropic works of sage Jamadagni and Devi Renuka, gives them a divine cow, Kamadhenu, capable of fulfilling any wish. One day, King Sahastrabahu Arjuna of Mahishmati learns of the cow's divinity and seeks to seize it from Jamadagni by any means. When Jamadagni's entire family opposes Sahastrabahu's attempts to take Kamadhenu, Sahastrabahu, in a fit of rage, kills Jamadagni, Devi Renuka, and their remaining sons. Enraged, Parashurama vows to annihilate Sahastrabahu's lineage. After killing the unrighteous Sahastrabahu, his wife sends her grandsons to fight Parashurama. This leads to a series of killings, and Parashurama's anger reaches its peak, causing the earth to become soaked in blood and lose its fertility.
When the Earth goddess narrates her plight to Lord Shiva, sage Kashyap, on Shiva's command, performs a ritual with Parashurama as the sacrificial host. In this ritual, Kashyap asks Parashurama for the land he has conquered, and Parashurama donates the entire earth to him. After giving away the land, Parashurama shoots an arrow into the sea, causing Mount Mahendragiri to emerge. Before retreating to the mountain, Lord Shiva entrusts Parashurama with a duty: to deliver the Shiva's Pinaka bow to a great devotee at a destined time. Taking the Pinaka bow, Parashurama goes to a cave on Mount Mahendragiri and enters deep meditation.
